"Dear Friends"

by J. Harmon Grahn

21 March 2004
Dear Friends,

I would like to invite your participation in a project I have commenced: a screenplay for a film to be titled, New Earth Rising; about life and living patterns and possibilities after the "consciousness shift," or whatever it is we are experiencing right now, has if not run its course, at least has decisively crossed the "high divide" separating "all that has been" on Earth from "all that shall be." The action takes place in a time, not distant, I should imagine, when the "Old Earth" is history, and life in the New Earth has only recently begun. What is life like in New Earth? How do people behave? What are their relationships like, with each other, with other life forms, with planet Earth, and with Cosmos at large?

I am prompted in this project by a recent inspiration to begin focusing attention upon the particulars of what we will actually be doing, and how we will be living, in a "post-NESARA world."1 Or in a post-something world. That is, something totally remarkable is taking place on planet Earth right now, which will eventually, sooner or later, have run its course. It can't go on like this forever, can it? "This too shall pass." Then what?

Therefore, presuming any of us survive into the "coming era," those who do will doubtless be making some mighty fundamental adjustments to our life styles and patterns of emotion and thought as this wave, whatever its nature, sweeps the Earth, and its consequences begin taking effect. NESARA is one scenario which would certainly usher in sweeping changes on a global scale; as would a mass landing of benign ETs.2 A third possibility, which does not exclude, and may be corollary or prerequisite to either or both of the above, is the spontaneous achievement of a "threshold conciousness level" by a "critical mass" of humanity, which creates the conditions for at least a significant number of us to part ways forever with "old paradigm" patterns, and to pioneer entirely "new paradigm" patterns of human interaction.

One way or another, life on Earth could become pretty nice, pretty quickly, for most residents of the planet, and I believe a great deal of highly creative thought is in order to anticipate what kinds of things will be occupying our attention and our lives once we find ourselves no longer in perpetual "survival mode." I mean, what will people do when they discover, for instance, that they no longer have to "keep their nose to the grindstone" and "earn their daily bread" with daily toil? Have you ever thought about that? What will you do when you find yourself afloat in a sea of lavish abundance, and face no necessity or motivation for "competing" for your very "survival," or for anything else, with anyone? These, and parallel questions, are not trivial.

Back in 1980 I attempted to write a science fiction novel about an ET human civilization that had never experienced the corruption and self-inflicted misery through which we have been struggling for lo, these past thousands of years. My intent was to visualize such a civilization and present it in such a way as to draw sharp contrasts with the way we "conduct business" here on Earth. However, I was absolutely flummoxed in the project, because I was not able, then, to imagine what such an "advanced civilization" would actually be like. So I had to put the project on the shelf, until such time, if possible, as I might become "advanced" enough myself to be capable of picturing clearly an "advanced civilization" and "enlightened practices" among humans.

Well, as some reading this may know, I have focused a great deal of attention on these very issues during the past several years,3 and lately I have begun to think I might be able to take my novel down off the shelf and make another stab at it. Only instead of a novel, I have decided to write a screenplay, tentatively titled, New Earth. This time, I plan to couch the story not as a description of an ET human civilization that had never been blemished by the trials we've gone through here, but rather present it as a "not-distant-future" scenario for us, we "Earth people" who have gone through all we've gone through, have at last seen our many follies for what they are, and have discovered within ourselves the patterns that work to the incalculable advantage of everyone.

I find I can, now, imagine quite clearly life styles that have nothing to do with "doing in the bad guys," or fighting wars "to make the world safe for democracy," and everything to do with the limitless excitement of living within one's own, and one's friends' boundless creativity – and sharing this creativity without bounds, limits, or restraint, with all who appreciate and value it. Human creativity, I now see, is a fount of endless wealth and abundance for everyone and everything. It is the fountain of "free energy"4 within easy access to every one of us, "right here, right now," with no mysterious technology required at all! Where does a creative thought come from? How is it brought into physical manifestation? Who knows? "Out of the vacuum." Yet every one of us exercises our creativity every day, on some level, and there is no end to it in sight, ever.

I have been thinking that now is the time for such thoughts to be given expression, because there is a mighty inertia of habitual patterns of thought, feeling, and action that must somehow be overcome before we will be able to make much progress as an "enlightened planetary race." "Seeing the light" is one thing, and this is a process that seems to be proceeding with gathering momentum lately – which is fine and dandy, as far as it goes. Yet "changing the habits," even when one has achieved "enlightenment," is a whole new ballgame. It's like standing at the foot of the steep learning curve for a new piece of highly functional software. You've got the software, fine; so far, so good. But it's going to take time and effort to learn how to use it effectively, and creatively.

It therefore seems to me beneficial to imagine an "alternative future" to the one mapped out for us by the "world controllers," and a vivid and illustrative motion picture strikes me as an ideal medium for bringing such imaginings into focus. More than that, even the process of creation of such a motion picture will, for its participants, act as a powerful stimulus to our collective creative imagination. It will liberate us from all creative constraints, for it shifts the focus from the necessity of imagining a "new paradigm world," which may seem next to impossible, to imagining a motion picture about a "new paradigm world." The second of these may feel considerably less daunting than the first.

Accordingly, what I propose is this. At the date of writing, I have blocked out the first scenes in the screenplay, New Earth, which I propose to post to the Net, and update from time to time. As it stands, the plot, or the course of the story, has yet to be worked out; which seems to me consistent with the way "real life" unfolds, from one day to the next. Each of us writes our personal script as we go along, and that is what I propose to do here. Further, I invite feedback from you, in the form of suggestions, or if you prefer, entire scenes to be worked into the script.

As the first scenes already written make clear, technology exists in New Earth which puts the entire world within "fingertip access" of practically anyone; inasmuch as there are no two points on the surface of the planet which are not an easy "hour's drive" away from each other. The opening journey, for instance, between the high desert in the American Southwest and Kealakekua Bay in Hawaii occupies 24 minutes. Thus the unfolding story may be staged at widely diverse locations on and off the planet, and authentic descriptions of these diverse places by local residents will add incalculable depth, color, and authenticity to the script. I can't promise I'll use every idea, or act on every suggestion that comes my way; any I do use will be clearly credited to their authors.

Mainly, I am aware that, although I have been thinking about an "alternative world" for a good long while now, I can't possibly have thought of everything; and anyway, any future world that emerges in reality will be the product of all its residents, not just one or a few. Therefore, the greater the number of unique points of view expressed in the script, the more plausible and convincing it will become.

Another thing: once a script is written, I am not myself clear as to what the next step would be on the path to seeing it actually produced and viewed on the silver screen. Nevertheless, if this project attracts the interest and participation of enough creative individuals, surely someone will know someone who will know at the appropriate time what the most effective next step should be. At this point, it seems sufficient to know that every motion picture ever produced began with a script. Let us produce that, and trust that the follow-on steps will become apparent in due course.

In visualizing New Earth, I am operating on the basis of a few starting premises – which are also at least somewhat negotiable, on the basis of your feedback and suggestions:

  1. The common understanding achieved in the "consciousness shift" that has taken place at the time the story begins is that "All are One," and each individual is sovereign over the conduct of his or her life – so long as each individual honors and respects the similar sovereignty of every other individual.

  2. Consequently, the only "crime" in New Earth is the exercise of pre-emptive force by any individual or group against any other individual or group.5 Such "crime" is mainly a "crime" against the entity so acting, for pre-emptive force invites unpredictable retaliation and resistance, and results in the actor's loss of sovereignty. It also spoils the world for everyone else.

  3. The lifting of the burden of pre-emptive force from the lives of everyone on Earth has resulted in the spread of incalculable wealth and freedom into all sectors of human society.

  4. One of the consequences (and causes) of this is the widespread availability of limitless energy, physically, for the accomplishment of innumerable human tasks; as well as the proliferation of formerly unavailable technologies, such as transportation by means of "antigravity." These technologies make obsolete wheeled vehicles of every description, as well as the infrastructure of roads, bridges, borders, "ports of entry," and other means of controlling human commerce and travel.

  5. The transition between "Old Earth" and New Earth has been accomplished, to the delight and surprise of practically everyone, in an extraordinarily peaceful and orderly way.

  6. These human achievements were not accomplished without help – although help of such nature as not to trespass the sovereignty of the human residents of planet Earth. The unfolding story will illustrate, among other things, how the human residents of planet Earth are in the process of taking our place as peers in a much larger Cosmic community than most humans have heretofore imagined.

The latest version of the New Earth screenplay is [no longer] available for [on-line] examination. [However, those with a serious interest in collaboration on the project are invited to contact me for further discussion.] It is, as indicated above, a work in progress; and you are invited, if you wish, to participate in its creation. Let us together create an image of the New Earth so vivid, appealing, inspiring, and attractive to the hearts and souls of all who view it, that it will act as a "self-fulfilling prophesy" of the happiest, most delightful imaginable consequence for everyone on Earth!

You may address your collaborative efforts to [address obfuscated]. Thank you for your time, attention, and participation.

Love, Peace, Joy, NESARA, Now,
Harmon
