Metaconsciousness: Mythology for a Post-Civilized World
II.4 | Contents | Introduction to Volume III

Epilogue

The space between the preceding section and this is intended for gradual expansion through insertion at intervals of additional post-civilized myths. Work in progress.... As stated earlier, this will evolve as an "open-source mythology" for the explicit purpose of creating a foundation for post-civilized human social patterns that work. Accordingly, I have copyrighted this work under the GNU Free Documentation License, have published it on the Net in both HTML and PDF formats, and encourage its widespread dissemination among resonant souls and kindred spirits.

Input is hereby invited from readers of this work, particularly in collaboration on Volume II, Open-Source Post-Civilized Mythologies, and Volume III, Visions of Future History. You are invited to draft myths and visions of your own invention, and / or to join collaboratively with other visionaries and myth-makers in giving birth to a "full-featured" comprehensive post-civilized vision suite that may really be plausible to a wide spectrum of contemporary or future humans, and may provide inspiration for the emergence of human social patterns that are "almost, but not quite, entirely unlike civilization." I suggest that proposed myths and visions be as consistent as possible with objective reality – within the constraints imposed by a presumably infinite, non-local, complimentary quantum Whole upon finite, local, complimentary parts – which returns us once again to the enveloping domain of mythology, and the "guideline" that anything is possible, so let your imagination soar!

Even if we feel discouraged by our clumsy, awkward, or ignorant initial efforts, we must at least try. Our roughly-thrown "initial gob of clay on the potter's wheel," may appear ugly and ill-conceived at the beginning; and yet emerge, finally, as a beautiful vision which would never have emerged at all, had it not been first begun. Perhaps, "with a little help from our friends," an expanded visionary mythology of great beauty and widespread human appeal may emerge: a mythology that works in a post-civilized world.

Additionally, according to myth, we are not alone, and metaconsciousness is everywhere present; and may work in us and through us in extraordinary ways when we align ourselves deliberately, intentionally, and purposefully with its evolutionary spiral of becoming. This can be a deeply satisfying individual human experience – and it may even make a contribution to pulling humanity's bacon out of the fire in these perilous times.

Please do feel at liberty to reproduce this work, under the terms of the GNU FDL, and to contribute, in any way you are so moved, to the magnum opus of fashioning a post-civilized mythology for a post-civilized world. Thank you for your time, attention, and participation.
