The ultimate "Cosmosity" is Cosmos Itself. EveryThing and everyOne in existence "experience" something, simply by being, and take with them whatever they value in each experience. (That's rather a limited "Man-centered" way of expressing what is intended as a much broader concept. What does a stone, for instance, or a tree, "experience" by existing in Cosmos? I don't know, but I presume, "something" with "meaning," or its analog, to "them.") We are all already "enrolled" in the greatest of all possible "Cosmosities," simply because We exist in Cosmos; and every experience We have, and every consequence of every thought, word and deed, contributes to Our "Cosmic Education." ("Education" is another word heavily freighted with "old paradigm" connotations and would be well replaced with something fresh in Our "new paradigm" lexicon. Suggestions, anyOne?)
-
Accordingly, Our "Cosmosity" should be a microcosm of Cosmos - or at least of the Planet; or of Human society at large. This might be achieved in part by fashioning the "Cosmosity" as a kind of community, or village, or town. As observed in the two-part essay on "Sovereignty" [tnp vol. II #22, #24, 11/15, 19/99] there is an uncompromising upper limit to the size and complexity of a community, beyond which it cannot be administered with the informed consent of each and all of its constituents. It may be, however, that a community the size of a moderate university campus - say, a maximum of 10,000 Individuals - can fit comfortably within such administrative constraints. Or it may be found in practice that the maximum population is somewhat greater or less than this arbitrary number. In any case, the foundational "cornerstone" upon which the "Cosmosity" is built must be Individual Sovereignty. This I hold as axiomatic - unless someOne can persuade Me otherwise. I rest My contention upon the entire corpus of The New Paradigm writings to date.
-
Actually, the "Cosmosity" stands upon a foundation of three essential pillars: Individual Sovereignty, Truth and Love. Its entire purpose may be summed up as the promotion and nurturance of these three Cosmic Principles within each Individual, within the Community, and within the global Community of Communities. These three Principles, I submit, are of vital importance to the balance, health and success of any Entity in Cosmos; or if not in Cosmos, certainly within the margins of Our three-dimensional free-will Universe. By "Entity" I mean anyThing from a Quark, to an Atom, to a Molecule, to a Cell, to an Organism of any kind; a Human Being, a Family, Tribe, Corporation, City, Nation, Race, Planet, Sun, Solar System, Galaxy, Galactic Cluster, Universe,... anyThing, in a few words, that may be identified by the focus of attention. The purpose of a "Cosmosity" is to nurture harmonious, symbiotic, mutually beneficial relationships among all Entities; or if that is not possible, at least neutral, non-destructive relationships among Entities with which more positive relationships cannot be achieved.
-
Because the world didn't fall entirely to pieces with the millennial date roll-over, and global telecommunications are still evidently intact, the "Cosmosity" can easily have global reach; it is not necessary to be a physical resident in order to be a participating member of a "Cosmosity." However, pursuant to the objective of nurturing Human Self-Realization in such a way as to create Communities of Loving, Truthful, Individual Sovereigns, a physically defined social community is likely to be an important feature of a "Cosmosity." There are numerous examples of ethnic communities and tribes in various regions and historical periods which have worked out in profound depth community relationships that function very well. I have in mind in particular certain North American Tribes, as well as the native Hawai'ians and various other "South Seas Peoples" prior to European influence. Where these in many ways enlightened Tribes and Races ran aground was in relationship with other Tribes and Races; in part because their wisdom did not encompass the Earth and Her Residents as a Unified Whole. They lacked the global vision We have tenuously achieved today at incalculable cost to Ourselves and One Another throughout history. Thus a crucial objective of a "Cosmosity" is not only to re-establish tribal and community relationships that work within the local Community, but to expand those principles to relationships among Communities, Tribes, Races and Peoples in every part of the world. This objective will doubtless be enormously advanced by the uninterrupted proliferation of global telecommunications networks, as well as by numerous additional existing and emerging technologies. It is thus in no way a "step backward into the past," but rather a quantum leap forward into a global Human destiny never before experienced, or possibly even imagined, anywhere on Earth.
-
The following thoughts are prompted in particular by the recent "Y2K" panic that probably reached its crest around the world, at least popularly, about 30 December 1999. In order for the Individuals in a community to have full exercise of Individual Sovereignty, Truth and Love in a three-dimensional world, each must have abundant, unobstructed access to six components crucial to biological life and the exercise of Individual Sovereignty and unfettered commerce: Water, Food (including Medicine), Dwelling (including Clothing), Energy, Transportation, Communication.
In the collapsing "old paradigm" world of the previous century and millennium the vast majority of People on the Planet had grown accustomed, through complacency, somnambulance and a vast surreptitious scheme of mass mind manipulation, to a regime in which all of these vital components were largely or entirely under the control of so-called "authorities," as opposed to the Peoples' Individual Sovereign Selves. This of course has been the formula for a de facto global tyranny over the "many" by the "few," and ultimately, for the inevitable suicide/murder of the Human Race. Fortunately, that "old paradigm" system is now decisively collapsing and People are awakening in large numbers to the necessity of taking charge of Our own Lives and securing sovereign access to and exercise of at least these six vital components. This process may be significantly facilitated by the deliberate intention behind the "Cosmosity;" by pursuing, liberating and developing technologies and techniques that expand Individual access to these components; and possibly, eventually, by developing methods and techniques transcendent of physical technology. Some elaboration on the six components in turn may be in order.
-
5.1. Water:
Technologies exist or can be developed by means of which water may be distilled literally out of desert air, recovered from the sea, recycled from any moisture source, including polluted sources. Such technologies have not been developed in the past because it has until recently been easier, and seemingly more "cost-effective," to plunder the Earth for water, then use it for flushing Our industrial wastes back into the ecosystem. Such practices spring from suicidal "old paradigm" concepts which utterly fail to perceive every part of the Earth as intimately integrated with the Life and health of every Individual. Only an Idiot would deliberately and massively poison Shimself, but that is precisely what We have been doing throughout the past millennium, and at a rapidly accelerating pace throughout the past century. Also, effective distillation technologies could, in combination with other, similarly liberating technologies, make possible communities not subject to the control of external administrative "authorities" which might otherwise be able to use access to water as a lever of political or economic control.
Accordingly, one element of the agenda for a "Cosmosity" is naturally to develop and market technologies which make water available to Individuals and communities in any environment on Earth; and which facilitate the recycling of waste products in such a way that no poisons are returned to the ecosystem. Generally, in fact, with widespread understanding of the Human condition it would naturally be universal Human policy that no industrial / manufacturing process should produce anything that is not useful for some other process. That is the model exhibited by Nature; if We do not duplicate it We are not Natural, and only poison Ourselves. Human Beings can live in ecological balance with all Life on Earth; but it requires the Human Will and Intent to make Human industry as clean, efficient and ecologically integrated as the myriad industries of Nature.
-
5.2. Food (including Medicine):
Time was, and not so long ago, when practically everybody on Earth was at least significantly involved in the production of their own food. The expansion of mechanized farming, particularly during the latter half of the past century, has effected a massive change in that pattern, and the once ubiquitous Family Farm has, under persistent economic pressure, given place to giant food combines with a "factory" approach to agriculture. The result has been the wholesale destruction of the formerly most fertile soils on Earth, combined with the massive migration of rural populations into vast urban concentrations without the slightest capability of producing what they physically need to sustain daily Life. Our food, formerly a product of sunshine, rain, fertile soil and careful husbandry, is increasingly a product of biochemical engineering and has not the capability of sustaining Life - as evidenced by the alarming rise in degenerative diseases in urban populations all over the world.
When We no longer have control over what is available for Us to eat, We have indeed descended into a pitiful state of abject slavery. Thus another element of the "Cosmosity" agenda is to develop techniques, technologies and awareness whereby Individuals can again take charge of what We eat: by producing it Ourselves. This does not have to involve the back-breaking toil associated with the agriculture of yesteryear. Combined with technologies for securing pure water in any environment, sophisticated agricultural techniques and technologies exist or can be developed which enable Individuals and Communities to function anywhere on Earth without need of external support.
Another aspect of agriculture is the production and processing of medicinal herbs, which in fact have been the source of most medicines and pharmacological preparations until quite recently. It has been said with good reason that there is not a plant that grows without some medicinal properties. Often the cure for an illness or the healing of a wound may be found in the overlooked "weed" growing wild by the side of the road - if You know what to look for, and where to look. Some medicinal plants are so valuable and have so many useful properties that they are criminally prohibited by the economic pressure of powerful pharmaceutical and other corporations, with whose interests they are perceived to compete. The most notorious of these is Indian hemp, Cannabis sativa L., which also goes by the slanderous and bogus name, "marijuana."
-
5.3. Dwelling (including Clothing):
Time was also when most People not only produced their own food, they built their own houses and made their own clothes. Now it's getting to the point where a Man can't add a back porch to His house without first obtaining a piece of paper from some "authority." And if He wants to build a house... well, He's got to obtain a Building Permit, hire an Architect, a Building Contractor and jump through I don't know how many administrative hoops, inspections, etc. and it just goes on and on. Why? "For his own good; for the good of the community; the Regional Development Plan; whatever." Because "It's the Law." Well, "the Law" is a contract, and a contract that is not fully disclosed, fully understood, willingly agreed to, or is coerced, is not binding and has no lawful force, full stop.
Meanwhile, building technologies exist or can be developed which make possible dwellings of such high efficiency and integrated design that they more resemble living organisms than boxes to live in. Houses can be built today which capture heat, light and energy from the ambient environment; dispose of organic wastes in processes that produce a continuous cycle of heating / cooking fuel and rich compost for nourishing a garden; are so efficiently insulated as to require little or no energy, summer or winter, to maintain a comfortable internal temperature. A community of such dwellings, combined with the capability of producing water and food in any environment, adds to a growing list yet another element conducive to Individual Sovereignty, Truth and Love. Such a community might well include a clothing manufacturing facility adequate for the needs not only of the community itself, but of other communities as well - particularly if one of the agricultural products were Indian hemp, source of one of the most durable and versatile known fibers.
-
5.4. Energy:
Once the fundamental necessities of Water, Food and Dwelling have been satisfactorily secured, energy is of most critical importance to the expanded exercise of Human Sovereignty. The energy commonly available to the "mass of Humanity" is all of such nature that it can be valved and regulated at the will of a very few "authorities." It flows through refineries, pipelines, dams, transmission lines, subject to the will and whim of the ultimate controllers of these resources and conduits. However, it is a physical fact that energy is not a scarce commodity in the Universe; and petroleum, coal, hydroelectricity and nuclear power are not the only sources of energy on the Planet. These are the energy technologies and resources that have been massively developed, in preference to far more efficient, cleaner and less environmentally disruptive sources, because they share the property of being amenable to centralized control; no other reason.
However, everyOne on Earth is afloat upon a veritable sea of limitless energy. Liberating that energy for Human use is, exactly as in the case of fossil, hydroelectric and nuclear power, only a matter of Human invention and know-how. Another element of the "Cosmosity" agenda is therefore research and development of those energy technologies with the specific properties of being a) environmentally clean and harmless; b) easily distributed, in the sense that the energy source, not only its output, is compact and conveniently managed by Individuals; c) by nature not subject to centralized control, by anyOne, ever.
The greatest fear of the recent "Y2K" panic was precisely (in part) that the systems of centrally controlled energy distribution would fail; and as I write this I don't know for sure that many of them won't, or haven't. In any case, let it be a high Human priority to correct as quickly as possible the potentially catastrophic error of allowing Our energy to be held hostage by the malevolence or incompetence of "somebody else." Every Human Being, Family, Community, ought to be able to secure for Ourselves the capability of producing the energy We need, to do what We do: subject always to the common-sense principle, "Do what You will - without compromising the liberty of any Other to do likewise."
-
5.5. Transportation:
The ability and liberty to move One's body and property about in three-dimensional space is also of critical importance to the exercise of Individual Sovereignty and unfettered commerce. Time was when travel was basically conducted on Earth either "afoot or horseback," or by wind- or oar-driven boat or ship. So it has long been habitual to assume that travel requires negotiation of roads, passes, bridges, straits, harbors, ports of entry; and more recently, airports. All such "choke points" have afforded "the authorities" effective means of control of Human commerce and travel, time out of mind; as well as providing opportunities for more entrepreneurial piracy on an ad hoc basis.
Transportation technologies now exist on the Planet, however, which entirely bypass all such "choke points" and potentially give Individual Humans the freedom of the sky, enjoyed by birds and flying insects for millions of years. These technologies exist, but are kept as carefully guarded secrets by "the authorities," who know they would immediately lose all control over Human commerce were such technologies liberated to the use of the general population.
Nevertheless, massive vehicles of a wide variety of sizes and descriptions have been observed in all parts of the the world by thousands, possibly by millions of witnesses; sometimes performing maneuvers involving accelerations of at least many tens of "gees," or multiples of the acceleration due to gravity at the Earth's surface. Many of these craft are presumed to be piloted by non-Human "Aliens from Outer Space;" but at least some of them are evidently piloted by Humans and originate from Human installations, such as the "Above Top Secret" base at Groom Lake in south-central Nevada in North America.
Such vehicles have the capability of traveling between any two points on Earth in a matter of minutes, and landing anywhere at all, on land or sea or, possibly, even on the ocean floor. Imagine if you will a world (characterized, of course, by a prevailing attitude among Humans of Love, Trust and Mutual Respect as Sovereign Cosmic Beings) in which such vehicles, not petroleum-driven automobiles, trucks, trains, ships and airplanes, are the predominant mode of transportation. On "Shopping Day" You might zip over to Darjeeling for a kilo of Your favorite tea, for which You might trade a bag of kiwis You'd picked up in Christchurch; stop off in Luzern for a chunk of Swiss cheese, in exchange for some yak butter from Bhktapur; trade a bottle of saki from Niihama for a bottle of champagne in Provins.... And so wend Your way about the Earth, and arrive back home near, say, Puerto Vallarta in time for lunch. Or for that matter, maybe "home" is wherever Your "flying saucer" happens to be parked at the moment.
Another part of the "Cosmosity" agenda, then, is R&D of the technology, and elevation of the consciousness, that might bring such a world within reach of substantial actuality. The technology is probably the "easy part." There are People on Earth who have access to it and evidently know how to implement it; it is only a matter of time before these "Top Secrets" leak into wider circulation. The "consciousness raising" is the decisive component, for it is clear that under such circumstances everyOne on Earth, and possibly in the Galaxy, is effectively the "next-door neighbor" of everyOne else. If We haven't learned to Love and Respect One Another by the time such technologies become widely available, Life could get rather dicey on the Planet, even by 20th century standards.
-
5.6. Communication:
At first glance, One may question whether communication is actually "crucial to biological life;" but further reflection discloses that it is indeed. Certainly communication is critical to the exercise of Individual Sovereignty and unfettered commerce. Fortunately, Our telecommunication technology is the first fraction of the six vital components enumerated above to have actually broken loose from the controlling stranglehold of "the authorities;" by virtue of the Internet, global e-mail and the expanding use of encryption technologies. "The fat is in the fire; the goose is cooked, the die is cast, the jig is up, and the cat is out of the bag!" [Approximately, Thurber.]
Something like this happened about 550 years ago, when Johannes Gutenberg is said to have invented movable type. The invention touched off a literary conflagration that ignited the spirit of Humanity throughout Europe, and eventually, the world. It overturned the stifling control apparatus of "the authorities" of Medieval Europe, fueled the Protestant Reformation, the Italian Renaissance; and maybe another 450 years were consumed before "the authorities" had once again fastened a firm lock upon the major conduits of global Human communication.
Now there is once again a medium of open communication available to practically anybody on Earth, linking Minds throughout the Planet. The stimulus is breathtaking, and it is in the agenda of the "Cosmosity" to take as full advantage of this refreshing, exuberant liberty as possible. We may not yet be able to transport Our bodies in minutes between the antipodes of the Earth; but We certainly can do it with messages, with thoughts, with ideas, with art, and music, and poetry. We can draw One Another's attention to matters deliberately ignored by all other communication channels still under the control of "the authorities."
More than that, We are now in the process, spontaneously and without the overarching organizational control of anyOne, of creating in effect a "Global Mind," in a way quite analogous to the way the Human Brain grows and develops by creating myriads of synapses between and among individual Brain Cells. Every message You write, every Web Site You visit, every link You click on, contributes to, and is an expression of, the Personality of the Global Mind We are fashioning, shaping, giving identity from moment to moment, every hour of every day. Through Our daily interaction with the Net we are "hands-on" learning the dynamics of functioning harmoniously in a global community of Sovereign Cosmic Beings.
And the whole thing didn't crash and burn on the occasion of the "Y2K" date roll-over! The Net stayed up; didn't even hiccup. That means, whatever else falls out of the "Y2K problem," and it may be some weeks or months playing out: We're still in communication! The "Global Mind" continues to grow, to learn, to mature. That is why, although things don't look a whole lot different today than they did last century, I called this "The Year Zero." It's a whole new ball game, Folks. We have Communication; and We're going to leverage that incalculably precious capability into recovering, improving and perfecting Our Water, Food, Dwellings, Energy and Transportation. And what that all adds up to (because all these things are external aspects of Our concurrent recovery, improvement and perfection of Our Sovereign Cosmic Selves) is Liberty! Freedom! Cosmic Sovereignty! YES! That is what We're doing here, and that is the agenda (at least in part, as I see it) of the "Cosmosity."
-
There is a "seventh component," which although not intrinsically vital to Life, is pretty vital to Human commerce as it has been organized for the past several millennia: money; currency; the recognized medium of commercial exchange. Without it commerce as currently and historically organized is limited to the mechanics of barter. (In the circumstances described in section 5.5. above, however, maybe barter could eventually become, at least frequently, a quite satisfactory mechanism of commercial exchange.) In the collapsing "old paradigm" world of the previous three centuries, anyway, money has been used as an instrument of theft and oppression on a criminal scale that totally eclipses the combined magnitude of all other Human crimes throughout history; including the atrocities of Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot. Indeed, without the criminal misuse of money, the crimes of Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot would not have been possible, for that is how their regimes were financed.
The agenda of the "Cosmosity" is not to prosecute criminals, however, but to correct errors which stand as obstacles to Individual Sovereignty, Truth and Love. One of these is the criminal misuse and, in effect, literal "poisoning" of the medium of exchange in Human commerce. This can only be corrected through widespread understanding of how money has been used and abused through history to the present day and hour; and establishing a viable medium of exchange that is under the informed control of each Sovereign Individual. Thus another element of the "Cosmosity" agenda is thorough investigation and research into the mechanics of Human commerce and economics, and the essential properties of a viable medium of exchange.
Bank notes, consisting entirely of paper and ink, are decisively not a viable medium of exchange; but they are all that is available in contemporary commerce, wherein consists the most heinous "crime against Humanity" ever perpetrated by any Entity in history: the poisoning of Human commerce throughout the world. This has not been understood, at least until practically "day before yesterday," by more than "one man in a million." The "Cosmosity" agenda is therefore to make this clearly understood by as many Individuals as possible, for practical Sovereignty will never be achieved by People who do not understand about money.
Ah, but even that is not necessarily so. There have been cultures, prior to the sweeping plunder of the Planet by the so-called "civilization" of the past two millennia, whose economies were based not upon commercial exchange, but upon gifting; in which the most prosperous Individuals were those who gave away their most prized treasures, and were consequently so universally loved and esteemed by their Peers that they never wanted for anything.
Money, ultimately, is a token of mistrust. It's unspoken message is, "I give You something, only on condition that I have a promise of receiving something of equal value in return; otherwise I fear I shall lose My substance; I shall not be replenished; I shall die." The unspoken message of Love is, "I give freely from My Heart, everything that I have and that I AM; for I AM automatically and inevitably replenished by the limitless abundance of Cosmos; for That is What I AM." Imagine, if You can, a world running on that kind of an economy!
There. That's My input on the agenda of the "Cosmosity" - at least for the time being. I invite reciprocal input of all kinds from all interested sources. As I've said before, and particularly in this instance, the input of a single mind is inevitably one-sided and requires the balance of many other sources in order to achieve the "roundness" of a concept that might actually work. Nevertheless, if the concept resonates with You at all, and You would like to participate, send Me Your thoughts, ideas, contributions of any kind. Beyond that, You can see this is an ambitious vision. How far it goes depends entirely upon the level of interest it stimulates.
Love & Light,
-- Harmon
