A large volume of on-line information on the Net came cascading in very quickly in response to Raphael's Letter of 1/19/03; and it has required some careful consideration as to how best to organize and present this information in such a way that it will be of greatest use to those who may wish to access it. We feel it will be most useful if digested "slowly" and added incrementally to a general links database organized by "interest categories," such as "money," "energy," "land," "construction," etc. These general categories will be listed, and added to, as branches to other pages possibly listing sub-categories... and so on.

In the event, the influx of information turned out to be the occasion for the complete re-working of this Website, with the resurrection of the original FDL project of over two years ago, giving it, in response to a timely suggestion, a new name, and establishing the single focus of the Freedom Digital Library. Links suggested by respondents to Raphael's letter are now taking their place within the "Distributed Library" Archive, along with links accumulated by other means, and from other sources, that fit within the broad interests of the FDL.

As always, additional links, and suggestions as to where they may best fit into this data structure, are welcome. Nothing is "graven in stone;" this is an exquisitely fluid system for organizing information, and particular links may make their appearance under several different categories, if appropriate.
