The graphic above is the result of an exercise to explore the technique of drawing with bezier curves – the digital equivalent of using French and adjustable curves at a standard drafting table. Shapes can be defined with considerable precision, and filled solid or with graduations among 2563, or 16,777,216 different colors.

Picture GalleryIf the pattern pictured is not immediately identifiable as a common object, perhaps this will help. It was the funky old saucepan we kept on the stove top the winter of 2005-6 to put a little extra moisture into our high desert air. I happened to notice an intriguing reflection in it one morning, and snapped a quick picture. The stove top and saucepan's handle are masked by the artificial indigo background, also defined by a bezier curve.
